Becky Brown has been teaching children, teens, and adults the art of equestrian riding for over 35 years. Her attention to detail and safety, combined with her expertise, makes the Becky Brown School of Horsemanship one of the most recognized and sought out equestrian schools in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Brown has taken many riders from beginner camper all the way to regional and national championships over the years, and she continues to do so. Each rider is treated as an individual and with the help from Brown and her instructors each rider has the opportunity to attain any goal that they pursue, whether it’s for competition or just a fun weekly lesson.
Brown began her career riding western as a young girl, but later focused more on dressage and jumping. Brown got her instructor certification from the British Horse Society and the United States Eventing Association. She has also obtained her Bronze Medal with the United States Dressage Federation.
The Becky Brown School of Horsemanship offers beginning classes for all ages (5 thru adult), as well as classes for advanced riders in English and Western. Classes specialize in laying the correct ground work to bring each rider along in a safe manner. The program offers dressage, stadium jumping, cross country jumping, Western riding and the new sport of Western dressage. Most importantly, riders are taught to effectively communicate with their horse in order to develop a trusting and rewarding relationship.
As students learn about horsemanship, the care of the horse and riding techniques, they also learn important life lessons. Horses teach people discipline, time management, and taking responsibility for ones own self and actions.
Horsemanship also teaches lessons in sportsmanship, team work and the art of negotiation.
