The 2012-2013 school year is just around the corner, so it's about time to start buying school supplies! Unfortunately, many families of students throughout the Allen community are unable to afford school supplies, so Amerigroup Corporation, the Allen-Fairview Chamber of Commerce, Allen ISD and Allen Community Outreach are sponsoring Fill the Bus!, an initiative designed to collect school supplies for Allen students in need.
Supplies will be collected from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through Aug. 19, and can be dropped off at the Allen ISD Administration Building (612 Bethany Drive) each weekday. In addition, a bus will collect donated supplies at various locations throughout the community.
Supplies needed are:
- Spiral notebooks
- Notebook paper
- Folders with brads and/or pockets
- 1" 3-ring binders
- Erasers
- Glue sticks
- Highlighters
- #2 Pencils
- Crayons
- Facial tissue
- 4X6 index cards
- Manila paper
- Map pencils
- Black/blue ink pens
- Washable markers
- Dry erase markers
- Pencil box
- Construction paper
- Scissors
- Watercolors
- Payless Shoe gift certificates
- Back packs
