Parenting Seminar: Parenting Special Needs

Has your child struggled in school, been diagnosed with ADHD, LD, IDD, Autism, Asperger’s or Down Syndrome? At least one in six children struggle and have some sort of diagnosis. In today’s world it is tough to parent, and even tougher to parent when your child struggles with day to day activities, tasks and academics. We invite parents who are dealing with these issues to come to First United Methodist Church in Grapevine to be refreshed, renewed and to begin thriving as a parent! A "Parenting Special Needs" seminar will be held on Wednesday, February 3, from 6:15 to 7:45 PM in Room 2001 at FUMCG. We welcome pastor and author Dr. Lorna Bradley, who has led support groups and ministries for parents of children and youth with Special Needs. Presently, Lorna works at the Healing and Wholeness Center in Houston and has authored the book “Special Need Parenting: From Coping to Thriving.”

The seminar is offered free of charge, and a light snack supper is provided. Childcare for all children will be available. Your RSVP is appreciated for planning purposes. You may RSVP online at http://bit.ly/parenting-sn or to Linda McClure in the church office (817-481-2559 x126 or lindam@fumcg.org).

First United Methodist Church is located at 422 Church Street, one block west of Main Street in historic downtown Grapevine. For this seminar, you will enter the church through the Founders Chapel Atrium doors. For more information, visit www.firstmethodistgrapevine.org.
