To kick off the new year and encourage people to enjoy the gardens, the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden is offering $5 admission starting on January 5 and continuing through January 31 for those not yet members. This offer is only available when purchasing tickets at the gate. Members receive free admission all year.
Bill Graue, Dallas Arboretum board chairman, said, "After the holidays, we need some extra motivation to get moving, and there is no more beautiful place to walk than along the one-mile fitness trail at the Dallas Arboretum. It's one of the top 10 botanical gardens in the world, according to the Travel Channel, and this discount will encourage more people to see the winter plantings and to get a sneak peek as we prepare for Dallas Blooms."
2015 marks the 31st year for the largest floral festival in the Southwest, Dallas Blooms, with the theme "Deep in the Heart of Texans." Dallas Blooms begins on February 28 and runs through April 12. The garden explodes with color as more than 500,000 spring-blossoming bulbs burst. In addition, Texas inspired topiaries, such as a Texas star, longhorns and horses, will be displayed throughout garden.
Those coming out can also enjoy an elegant, three-course Friendship Tea for a lasting memory for those 13 and older. Prices range between $39 and $49 and include parking and admission to the garden.
