As Dallas/Mesquite families make a resolution to save money and get organized in 2015, two local moms are helping them turn spring-cleaning clutter into cash! Dallas’ largest consignment event, Just Between Friends is March 19-22nd.

  • Saturday, March 20th- 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 21st- 12:00 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Place: Mesquite Rodeo Exhibit Hall, 1700 Rodeo Drive, Mesquite, TX 75149

Admission:  Thursday $3, Friday, Saturday and Sunday FREE admission

Susan and Stacey offer what they call the “Three C’s” when preparing items to sell:

  • Clean – washing clothing and toys can help improve the appearance and make them easier to sell
  • Complete – make sure toys have all parts and are working. Also – put together outfits and you have a better chance of selling
  • Current – if items are in style then you have a better chance selling them

You can sell items all year round but the following items sell best in spring: large outdoor playhouses, outdoor toys and swim items. Clothing should be seasonal, in good condition with no rips or tears, clean and smelling fresh. The average Dallas/Mesquite consignor makes $400.

At the same time, parents looking to save will find everything they need to raise a family, from maternity to pre-teen. Bargains range from clothing, toys, electronics, books, baby equipment, furniture and more.  Everything is typically 50 to 90 percent off retail. And before the event a recall specialist inspects everything, including clothes. For example, they’ll look for the 11 stroller models recalled this November from Graco.

Stacey Losher and Susan Newhouseorganize and run the JBF events twice a year. They are thrilled to help the community save and earn money.  JBF also gives back, donating unsold items to Buckner Children’s Home in Dallas. Stacey and Susan are available for interviews before and during the event. We can also provide families who participate as consignors and shoppers for interviews.
