Alcuin School Gala Kicks Off 50th Anniversary Capital Campaign

It was a night to remember at the Alcuin Awe50me 50th Anniversary Gala Celebration at the Westin Park Central Hotel on March 29.  A record number of guests, including parents and supporters from past and present, attended this chic soiree themed “Alcuin Awe50me: Hats Off to 50 Years.”  In line with the theme, guests wore a variety of creative, fun and outlandish hats which made it tough for the judges during the evening’s hat contest.  Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings was on hand to deliver special remarks followed by dinner and dancing with musical entertainment provided by Downtown Fever, An Emerald City Production. Guests also enjoyed an array of special surprises during the evening including an airplane circling the hotel trailing an Alcuin Awe50me banner and after party with spectacular penthouse views French fry bar with a myriad of topping choices.

The gala not only marked the 50th Anniversary of Alcuin School, but it also helped launch the public phase of the $20 million 50th Anniversary Capital Campaign: Moving Boldly into the Future that will provide renovations for all campus buildings and the space for the new International Baccalaureate Upper School.

A vibrant, nurturing, coeducational academic community, Alcuin School uses the Montessori and International Baccalaureate program methods to foster critical thinking and a lifelong passion for learning. With faculty support, students at Alcuin School are eager to embrace change, question the status quo, and prepare for their future as leaders in a global society.
