Weekend Roundup: Earth Day is Plenty Cause For Celebration

Grab the kids and get ready to go green this weekend! All across Dallas/Fort Worth are tons of Earth Day celebrations where you can find out more about simple ways to make our world a more beautiful place.

Taking Care of Mother Earth Expo

Grapevine's Palace Theater is hosting the second annual Taking Care of Mother Earth Expo, which is a litter-free lunch and learn today at 1 p.m. Admission is free, and you can learn more about keeping water clean and recycling before watching a complimentary screening of "The Day The Earth Stood Still."

Earth Day at The J

The Dallas Jewish Community Center will have the J Naturescape on display Friday, where you can learn about recycling and going green.

Earth Day Dallas

Earth Day Dallas is a weekend-long event at Fair Park. The heart of the festival is the Eco Expo, and exhibitors will use their presence to promote their achievements as green leaders, and teach attendees how to take environmentally responsible action by better utilizing available resources, switching to eco-friendly products, or joining their organizations.

In addition to the Eco Expo, attendees will have a number of educational entertainment options. Be super green and take the DART Green Line to Fair Park on April 21 and 22.

Oak Cliff Earth Day

Check out booths from a variety of neighborhood and city organizations at Lake Cliff Park on April 22. Pet adoptions will be held by North Texas Cat Rescue. Dress your pup up for the Mutt Strutt. There's live music and activities for kids, and it all comes with a free-spirited Oak Cliff flavor.
