Engineer's Week at the Museum of Nature and Science

ENGINEER’S WEEK 2012
Monday, February 20 – Friday, February 24, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
MNS Science Building (1318 S. 2nd Ave. in Fair Park)

Celebrate National Engineers Week with five days full of engineering fun just for kids!

Explore hands-on engineering and technology activities that encourage inquiry and exploration. Check out the daily "Ask an Engineer" chats, and meet with real, working professionals and engineering students. And don’t miss the ever-popular live stage shows!

Daily activities

Squishy Circuits: Did you know that Play-Doh conducts electricity? Let your creative juices flow as you make creations that spin, buzz and glow.

Buckyballs: Buckyballs are tiny, soccerball-shaped molecules made of carbon. Their hollow structure could make them useful for delivering medicine in the future. Build a buckyball model and learn about their scientific importance.

Shaky Structures: When engineers in certain parts of the world design buildings, they have to make sure the buildings can stand up to the forces generated by earthquakes. Can you build a structure that holds up to our shake table?

Robo Mania: Robots have helped humankind in amazing ways! They make our food, build our cars and even perform surgery! Experiment with our tabletop robots to see what you can do with the power of technology.
