Spring Break at The Heard is full of great activities for the whole family!
Spring Break Mini-Camps - Offered daily, March 12-16, 2012, 9:30am-12pm
- Go behind the scenes with our education animals, create nature art, explore our collections of rocks and fossils, and more! Your child will enjoy hands-on learning. Come for one or more camps. Camps are divided into groups with level-appropriate activities and include indoor activities and time outside exploring our 289 acre sanctuary. Subjects include herpetology, nature art, animal care, geology, and microbiology.
- Family Canoe Try-It - Thursday, March 15, 1-4pm
No experience required! Give it a try! After safety and paddling introduction, spend about 40 minutes on a guided trail around the wetlands followed by free paddle time to explore on your own. Pre-registration required.
- Animal Encounters - Mon, Wed & Fri; 1:30pm
Heard staff will talk about animal ambassadors from the exhibit Animal Superheroes.
- Owl Prowl - Saturday, March 17 6:30-9:15pm
Reservations (required) for this annual event sell out early each year. Make your reservation today! Bring the whole family to see the live owl presentation. Then, stay for a guided night hike on our sanctuary trails and experience nature in a whole new way.
