Cool off at the Frontiers of Flight Museum's "Beat the Heat Saturday" on Aug. 24 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., 6911 Lemmon Ave., Dallas, TX 75209.  It's a great way to enjoy indoor fun during these hot Dog Days of August.  The annual event is also the perfect way to cap off the summer before school starts again.

Bring your camera and climb aboard several aircraft and flight trainers during "Open Cockpit Day," including the museum's Southwest Airlines Boeing 737-300.  Visit "Author's Row" featuring several nationally-acclaimed aviation authors who will be available to sign their books.  Visitors can also check out the "Aviation Swap Meet" for model airplane kits, vintage aviation magazines or other aeronautical memorabilla.  Cost is $5-$8.  Museum members and children under 3 are free.  Visit www.flightmuseum.com.
