Lakehill Runners Make Their Mark

Lakehill Preparatory School's Varsity Track Team concluded their season at the TAPPS State Track Meet in Waco ton May 4. The 4x100 meter relay team of Jourdyn Owens, Hayden Yoss, Lynley Waggoner, and Alanna Sternplaced fourth overall with a personal record time of 51.84. This time also broke the previous school record set in 2011 by Kara Gamboa ('11), Jenna Burch ('13), Ayana Heard ('12), and Alexis Johnson ('13). 
 
After taking third in the open 400m the past two years, Stern placed second in her open event with a time of 61.78, while Owens set a new personal best in the 100m with a time of 13.07.
 
The same relay team took home a bronze medal in the 4x200m relay with a personal best time of 1:49.85. This broke their own school record set in 2018 by almost five seconds.
