Wylie's Rita and Truett Smith Public Library hosts a wide variety of book and learning clubs for kids in the month of April.
My Very Own Book Club, for first- and second-graders, meets April 11 and 13 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Kids are encouraged to read the book on their own and then come to the meeting for discussion and a craft. Sign up at the Children's Desk. Participation is limited, but all participants get a free copy of the book. April's featured title is "The Tortoise and the Hare," by Janet Stevens.
3rd Grade Voyagers Club, a learning club just for third-graders, is April 19 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Register at the Children's Desk to receive a challenge. Space is limited. April's theme is "Gardening @ the Library." Kids are invited to help staff plant the library's spring garden.
BeTween Book & Movie Club, for kids in grades four, five, and six, meets April 26 from 6 to 7 p.m. Kids are invited to discuss different books that have movie adaptations. Sign up at the Children's Desk. The first 50 kids to sign up get a free copy of the book. April's featured title is "Nim's Island," by Wendy Orr.
Teen Book Club, for sixth- through 12th-graders, is April 5 from 6 to 7 p.m. TeensĀ are invited to discuss April's featured title, "Everland," by Wendy Spinale. Snacks and drinks are provided. Stop by the Teen Room for more information and to register.
