Children ages 2 - 5 are gearing up for the 14th annual Wylie 500 Pedal Car Race in historic downtown Wylie. Ballard Avenue will be closed and the track set on Sunday, May 6. Registration begins at 1 p.m.; race time is scheduled for 2 p.m. Ending time depends on number of entrants.

Kids select a car provided and decorated by local merchants and race 500 inches down Ballard in heats of six. Winners will receive trophies in two age brackets. The $10 entry fee includes a T-shirt, and proceeds benefit area Special Olympics and downtown Wylie beautification.
