Smith Library Hosts Kids' Look at My Book Collection

If there is a budding author or illustrator in your house, check out Wylie's Look at My Book (L.A.M.B.) Collection.

Through April 28, kids in fifth grade and younger are invited to create their own books -- writing, illustrating, "binding" with construction paper or other covers. Library staff puts "Property of Smith Public Library" sticker and bar code on them, and patrons can check them out to read in the library. Authors may reclaim their books at one of the four Young Authors Receptions planned for May 12; online registration for a reception is required and will be available at WylieTexas.gov/library beginning April 28. They may also choose to donate them to the library.

Teachers wishing to submit classroom sets are asked to donate only one set.

Visit https://www.facebook.com/smithpubliclibrary/ for samples of kids' books.
