Wylie's Smith Library Resumes Kids' Book Clubs in September

Smith Library, located at 300 Country Club Rd., in Wylie, will resume its book clubs for kids of all ages beginning in September.

My Very Own Book Club, for first- and second-graders, meets Sept. 12 and 14 at 3:30 p.m. September's book is "The Adventures of Beekle," by Dan Santat. Kids are encouraged to read the book on their own, then come to the meeting for discussion and a craft. Sign up at the Children's Desk. Participation is limited, but all participants get a free copy of the book.

3rd Grade Voyagers Club, a learning club just for third-graders, will meet Sept. 20 at 3:30 p.m. Visitors from the Blackland Prairie Raptor Center will present a program, "Raptors of North Texas."

BeTween Book & Movie Club, for kids in fourth, fifth, and sixth grade, will meet Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. Kids are invited to read and discuss different books that have movie adaptations. September's title is "A Wrinkle in Time," by Madeleine L'Engle. Sign up at the Children's Desk. The first 50 kids to sign up get a free copy of the book.

Tween Book Club, for six- through 12th-graders, will read and discuss "The Shadow Queen," by C.J. Redwine on Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. Snacks and drinks are provided, Stop by the Teen Room for more information and to register.
