If your child has attended Discovery Camp at the Museum of Nature and Science at Fair Park, they'll be doubly thrilled to attend the Perot Museum's week-long foray into modern science and technology. Registration for Perot Museum members is open now, and non-member registration starts Jan. 14. Both Discovery Camp (K-6th grade) and Discovery Camp Jr. (3-4 years) sessions are available.

The K-6 camp, which runs from March 11 to 15, focuses on a different science topic each day,highlighting subjects from the new exhibits and auditorium shows. Topics offer a preview into what will be covered more in-depth during summer camps.

Monday: Paleontology and Earth Science
Uncover fossils, rocks, minerals, and more, while exploring the dynamic earth processes that formed these geological treasures.

Tuesday: Engineering and Technology
The future is now! Get creative tinkering, building, and exploring everything from the simplest machines to the newest gadgets.                          

Wednesday: Astronomy
Take a journey through the universe, exploring stars, planets, moons, and more! From our closest neighbors in the solar system to the mysteries at the farthest reaches of the universe, there’s so much to discover.

Thursday: Biology
Discover life all around, starting with your own self! Explore what makes life so amazing, from tiny little germs to big giant animals, and everything in between.

Friday: Chemistry and Physics
Solids, liquids, gases, explosions! Magnets, electricity, superhero powers! If you think science is boring, guess again. Learn the science of everything fun through experiments, demonstrations, and exhibit visits throughout the museum.

Registration for spring break camp will be available January 1, 2013 for members. Non-member registration will begin January 14. Classes will fill up quickly, so check back to register online after January 1.
