Smith Library Planning Fun for Tweens This Summer

Younger kids aren't the only ones having fun at Wylie's Smith Public Library this summer! All sorts of programs and performances are planned for tweens, in grades four through six, as well! Tween programs are on Tuesdays from 3 to 4 p.m.

Registration is required and opens two weeks prior to the program date. Click on the link on the Kids Page at WylieTexas.gov/library. Space is limited; all programs take place in the Multi-Purpose Room, and all are free.

June 12: Perot Museum's Electric Theater - This interactive show all about electricity is guaranteed to combine learning and fun!

June 19: Art Attack - Create unique art by repurposing unwanted painted canvases and glitzing up old tree branches. All creations are sure to brighten up your room.

June 26: Smoothie Smackdown - Be a fruit ninja and see if your group can live up to the challenge of creating the best fruit smoothie.

July 3: Drum Circle - Mark Shelton, professional percussionist, is all about the beat. Create your own music with hand drums, bells, maracas, and more.

July 10: DIY Terrariums - Bring the outdoors inside with your own open-air, uncovered fantasy terrarium.

July 17: Library Water Wars - You may get sprinkled, sprayed, or soaked, but you will definitely get wet during this epic water balloon challenge. Bring a towel and a change of clothes and shoes. Wet kids are not allowed inside the library. This is an outdoor activity, so please plan accordingly.
