When I was a kid, when the words "Back To School" started showing up on ads and circulars inside our hometown newspaper, I cringed. How could summer pass by so quickly?

If I thought heading back to school was anxiety-inducing, I can't imagine what it's like for the 1,800 neglected and abused children Community Partners of Dallas serves. After going through so much, all they want to do is go back to school with everything they need to be a success.

That's why CPD hopes their annual "Back To School" supply drive can give all of those children backpacks full of looseleaf notebook paper, uniforms, and hope for a brighter future.

"Because 80 percent of the children served by Community Partners of Dallas live on a family income of less than $14,000 annually, after the most basic of needs of the family are met, school supplies may not fit into that budget," CPD says.

There are several ways to contribute:

  • Create a drive and collect new school supplies to donate
  • Make a financial donation to Community Partners of Dallas
  • Volunteer to help with school supply and uniform inventory and packing backpacks
