MetroPCS is giving away school supplies at 16 participating locations during scheduled hours on Thursdays through Sundays from July 30th to August 23rd. Each two-hour event will feature remote broadcasting from local radio stations.
In order to support children during the school day and after the bell rings, MetroPCS is making school supplies available to students while also donating $1 to nonprofit group for each phone activation, After-School All-Stars of North Texas, for every activation in one of their stores during the month of August.
During the in-store events, MetroPCS will hand out free cinch sacks filled with school supplies (limit 2 per adult and 1 per child) while supplies last. Each school supply kit will include a three-subject notebook, pocket folder, pencils, pens, eraser tops, glue sticks, ruler and every child’s favorite, a pack of 16-count crayons.
“We are really excited to give back to the children of the DFW community by offering free school supplies and supporting After-School All-Stars,” said Peter Slater, director of field marketing, north central region, MetroPCS. “The education of our community’s children is vitally important to our future. It brings great joy to our associates to have a small part in starting the school year off with new supplies to kids in our area.”
Committed to providing comprehensive after-school programs that keep children safe and help them succeed in school and life, After-School All-Stars North Texas serves 240 students in two schools. The program strives to make sure their participants are safe and healthy, graduate from high school and continue to college so that they may find a career they love and give back to the community.
