From Chestnut Square:
In1995, Killis Melton and Clyde Geer launched the first ever (that we know of!) Ice Cream Crank-Off right here in McKinney! Why? Because Killis, who liked chili as much as the next guy, thought it would be a lot more fun (and cooler) to have an ice cream cranking contest.

In 2006, the Doc & Clyde's Ice Cream Freezer Museum found a home in McKinney (largest collection of ice cream freezers in the world) and the Crank-Off has been featured on the Food Network and in national magazines.  In 2008 when Clyde retired and closed his popular antique store in downtown McKinney, the Doc & Clyde's Ice Cream Museum and Killis Melton Ice Cream Crank-Off moved to Chestnut Square Historic Village.  To learn more about the history of the Crank-Off, check out this interview with Clyde:
So, what's in store for this year's Crank-Off?
