There’s plenty of summer left at Wylie’s Smith Public Library, with awesome programs for kids.

Elementary-age kids are invited to attend Brett Roberts – Space Magic on July 16 at 10 or 11 a.m., or July 18 at 6 p.m. Free wristbands are required, as space is limited due to fire code. Wristbands are handed out in the lobby beginning at 9 a.m. on July 16 or 5 p.m. July 18.

Cosmic Crafternoon is for tweens in grades four through six. On July 16, at 3 p.m., decorate a notebook, a bag, a pen, or a pencil and play Moon Ball. Registration is required on the Kids Page at WylieTexas.gov/library. Space is limited.

Harry Potter’s Birthday Party is July 27 from 2 to 4 p.m. Games, trivia, wands, and owls! Come in your finest robes or dressed as your favorite character for the costume contest at 3 p.m. All are welcome, though the fun is geared toward kids in grades three through eight.

Teen summer programs, offered from 3 to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays, include Canvas Vandals on July 10. Learn the history of street art, how to make a stencil, and spray paint techniques and create a piece of artwork with the skills you learn. On July 11, it’s Cupcake Wars. Michelle of Hands on Design will teach the basics of cupcake decorating, and participants will compete in the ultimate design challenge. (Please don’t register for this class if you took it in June.) July 17, K-Pop Choreography Class, taught by David and Chantha of K-Pop Dallas, will feature original choreography to favorite K-Pop songs. (This class is from 3 to 4:30 p.m.) Finally, on July 19, it’s the End of Summer Party. Celebrate the end of summer by hanging out and watching “Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse” with friends and library staff. Teen programs are for kids entering grades six through 12. Registration is required on the Teen Page of Wylie Texas.com/library. Space is limited.

Indian Classical Dance will be held July 23 at 6:30 p.m., for adults and families (kids third grade and up). Krithika Mukund performs the ancient traditional Bharatanatyam, the art of storytelling through dance, which originated in the Hindu temples of Tamil Nadu and neighboring areas. Registration is required at WylieTexas.gov/library.

Everyone is invited to the Friends of the Library Book Sale July 13 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Discover books, AV, and fun nostalgia pieces at great prices! All proceeds benefit the library.

Reading clubs for kids, teens, and adults continue through Aug. 3. Complete logs and turn them in for a chance to win great prizes.
