Smith Library hosts programs and clubs for kids, teens and families.

Wylie’s Smith Library invites families to ease back into the school year by taking part in some of the many activities and club meetings scheduled for August and September.

Pre-school Storytimes resume on Aug. 27. Free tickets are required.

Family Storytime, for all ages and bilingual, is held Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m.

Infant Storytime, younger than 11 months, pre-walkers, is held Wednesdays at 10 a.m.

Big Kid Storytime, for ages 3 – 5, is held Wednesdays at 10:45 and 11:30 a.m. and on Thursdays at 1:30 p.m.

Toddler Time, for ages 1 – 2, is held Friday mornings at 10, 10:45, and 11:30 a.m.

Wagging Tales is held on Saturdays from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Early readers (usually kindergarten through second grade) or those struggling with reading are invited to read aloud to therapy dogs Tilly and Kelsey. Tickets are required, limited, and free; pick them up at the Children’s Desk beginning at 10 a.m. the day of the program.

Club sign-ups for kids, tween, or teen clubs begin Aug. 12. Kids who are interested in participating should visit the Youth Services Help Desk or visit

Teen volunteer applications will post on the website Aug. 16. Filled-out applications are due in the Teen Room by Aug. 30.

Lego League, for kids in grades 1 – 4, will be Sept. 10 and 12, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. No parents or older/younger siblings. Registration required at Children’s Desk.

Japanimation Club, for kids in grades 6 – 12, will be Sept. 12 from 6 to 7 p.m. Come geek out about all things anime and manga. No registration required.

Family Lego Build, for all ages (9 and under must be accompanied by adult), will be Sept. 25 from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m. Build with library’s Lego and Duplo sets. No registration required.
