February is a great month to head to Downtown Dallas and explore two opportunities to code amongst friends!

For Teachers: SCRATCH EDUCATOR MEETUPS

Scratch Educator meetups are participatory professional learning experiences for teachers who want to learn more about teaching with Scratch.

The first Meetup is taking place at The Grove, Dallas coworking on Saturday, February 11, 9:00am - Noon. We are happy to welcome educators with any level of experience in Scratch; the aim of the meetups is to build a community that shares resources and ideas and supports each other in bringing Scratch to students all over DFW.

Please join the Meetup group to RSVP: https://www.meetup.com/ScratchEd-Dallas/events/236818732/

For Students and Adult Mentors: CODE DAY DALLAS

The Grove will be hosting Code Day Dallas again Saturday, February 18 - Sunday, February 19! From the Student RND website:

WHAT IS CODEDAY?

CodeDay is a nationwide event where student programmers, artists, musicians, actors, and everyone else can get together and build apps & games for 24 hours. Students of all skill levels are welcome?—?we have workshops and mentors who can help if you're new!

At the beginning of CodeDay, everyone with an idea comes up and pitches it to the group. If you're on your own, or just without an idea, this is the time for you to build whatever you want.

Tickets are now available. This is a great Intro to coding for your middle or high schoolers as they do not need any experience in coding. I'll be there for all the opening stuff and the judging. Can you tell someone you know? And hit me up if you want any info about The GroveStudent RND, or the technology/code camps I'll be running this Summer.

Visit the official Code Day Dallas site for more info and to purchase tickets: https://codeday.org/dallas

Our Pilot Camps have been way too much fun! Enjoy some moments from those below, or start shopping Summer Camps now.

We have ten weeks planned of fun, hands-on STEM camps for children six through twelve years old. Learn to sew, make video games by writing your own code, program a MIDI controller to play music, construct a catapult, help build a cardboard city and so much more with us this Summer at The Grove, Dallas Coworking. All camps are limited to about 15 campers, so please don't hesitate.

As always, if you have questions, you can Contact Us today. If you aren't ready to plan your Summer, check out Spring events via our Eventbrite page.
