REGULAR DAY CAMP BY RENEGADES OF CODE

The day will feature multiple “maker” projects in either robotics, art, electronics, or coding – and in some cases, activities will merge many of those tracks.

Campers will construct circuits, learn to solder, and build an original electronic creation to take-home. Attendees are encouraged to bring in old, broken and/or useless electronic componentry or project ideas, too.

This STEM camp is best for girls and boys who are seven through twelve years old and who have at least some interest in tinkering (please ask me if you have an outlier, though, as I will consider anything for these pilot programs).

Please note that we are currently located in the West End area of Downtown Dallas (you will not have to park, as we offer curbside pick-up/drop-off every day). Snacks and water are provided; campers should bring a bag lunch.

9:00am - 2:00pm, $60.00

EXTENDED DAY

***"Early Bird" - It's a pajama party! Wear something ridiculous to Camp, and we will make pancakes and have an indoor Nerf Gun battle and Kickball game. Drop-off at 6:00am and play until Camp begins at 9:00am. (There is an additional charge of $20.00 for the Early Bird Program.) CANCELLED, BUT AFTER PARTY IS STILL AN OPTION!***

"After Party" - We will watch a movie on the big screen, pop popcorn, and each camper will have a chance to "ride a roller coaster" and "run with dinosaurs" in our sample VR experience (full program coming to a future Camp). This session runs from end-of-camp at 2:00pm until 5:00pm. (There is an additional charge of $20.00 for the After Party Program.)

You can read more about all this year's camps on our website, or you can buy tickets here.

I'm ridiculously excited about this...

We will be hosting Code Day Dallas this year in my coworking space! Code Day is a sort of hack-a-thon event by Student RND. Here's the description from their website:

What Is CodeDay?

CodeDay is a nationwide event where student programmers, artists, musicians, actors, and everyone else can get together and build apps and games for 24 hours. Students of all skill levels are welcome?—?we have workshops and mentors who can help if you're new!

At the beginning of CodeDay, everyone with an idea comes up and pitches it to the group. If you're on your own, or just without an idea, this is the time for you to build whatever you want.

Tickets are still available. This is a great Intro to coding for your middle or high schoolers as they do not need any prior experience in programming. I'll be there for all the opening stuff and the judging. Can you tell someone you know? And hit me up if you want any info about The Grove, Student RND, or the pilot code camps I'll be running during this year's school holiday breaks.

Visit the official Code Day Dallas site for more info and to purchase tickets: https://codeday.org/dallas

One last goodie: use the code GROVEFRIEND for $3 off the already low ticket price of $10. See you there!  ~Mess Wright
