The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth Offers Free Admission in Honor of the Association of Art Museum Directors' (AAMD) Art Museum Day, May 18, 2012.
Visitors to the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth will receive free admission to the Museum's permanent collection and special exhibitions, Glenn Ligon: AMERICA and FOCUS: Ged Quinn, on Friday, May 18 in honor of the Association of Art Museum Directors' (AAMD) Art Museum Day. The Modern is a small part of the 106 AAMD member museums across North America celebrating the annual event.
AAMD's Art Museum day coincides with International Museum Day, which is organized every year around the world by the International Council of Museums. Scattered across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, the AAMD member participants include smaller regional museums and leading international institutions. Participation of the many museums emphasizes the lasting impact art museums have on their communities and highlights the significance of visual arts on society, while providing an array of opportunities for audiences to interact with the unique programs that art museums offer.
