Lily Forbes, a Hockaday fifth grader, is a very creative girl.

The 10-year-old is a budding costume designer it seems, after winning the Dallas Children's Theater contest to design the outfits for the bees, birds and butterflies in "Pinkalicious The Musical." Forbes' entry will be worn by the youth ensemble cast in the fall production.

"I love acting and designing," Forbes said. "And I have taken classes at the Dallas Children’s Theater before. I did not end up trying out for Pinkalicious and when I read about this contest, I thought it would be cool to see my designs come alive!"

The fun's not over for Forbes, who will work with Dallas Children's Theater costume designer Lyle Huchton to select fabrics and trim for the costumes.

"Pinkalicous The Musical" hits the Rosewood Center on Sept. 21. Find out more about the play and by tickets on the Dallas Children's Theater website.
