Choo choo!  This weekend, the Allen Heritage Guild will present a Modular Train Exhibit at the Allen Heritage Guild (Train Depot) on Saturday, April 14 and Sunday, April 15.

Over 100 train models, featuring freight, passenger and work trains, will be showcased in the exhibit, representing southwestern railroad companies including Southern Pacific, Rock Island and Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe.

The model trains will not only be on display, but they'll also travel a scenic route through vistas, bridges, mesas and towns, and even through the historic Allen Train Depot, recreated to match its 1942 appearance.

In addition to the exhibit, model train experts will be available in case you want to bring your own models in for appraisal.  Also, a presentation about the history of Allen's railroad will be given at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on each day.

The Modular Train Exhibit is free and open to the public.  Exhibit hours ate from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
